I have been living on the farm for around a year and a half now, and it has been quite a drastic contrast from city life!
My boyfriend, Andy, and his lovely family are first generation sheep farmers which means that they have essentially built the farm up from scratch. The farm has around 4,000 sheep that are New Zealand Romneys (bred from Rams that were actually flown in from NZ itself), 50 odd cows, most of which are Sussex cattle, and a handful of Belted Galloways, a mix of chickens and then (my personal fave) Poppy the English Lop Eared Sow.
The farm is set in the heart of the Sussex South Downs and we (Andy and I) live in a tiny Cottage just down a track from the main farm surrounded by breathtaking views. Andy works full time on the farm together with his Mum and Dad, and I when I’m not doing my day job (as an Account Manager at an Advertising Agency), I can usually be found rattling around on a quad bike, or to the left of Andy in a John Deere.
